Staff Profile of the Month
2019 will be an important year for staff at Green Pastures. They are planning to extend the medical team and services of the hospital. Starting this January, you can find a profile of a member of Green Pastures’ staff each month in our news section.
Nalome is Green Pastures’ Funding and Marketing Manager and leads a team of three.
She has a Master’s Degree in International Public Health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the UK. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management.
Prior to joining Green Pastures Hospital in October 2016, she worked with United Mission to Nepal (UMN) in Kathmandu. From 2009-2016 she was a Programme Manager in UMN’s Health Team.
Nalome is experienced in working with government agencies, NGOs, schools and community groups.
She says, ‘INF’s values and the working environment inspire me to work at Green Pastures. Working in the health sector has always been my passion and interest. What makes Green Pastures different from the other hospitals is the compassion and spiritual care given to the patients and their families, alongside the excellent medical care for patients.’
The hospital is moving ahead with long-term development plans and Nalome’s team is under great pressure. They are working together with clinicians, supporting them in developing and submitting proposals, strategic plans, and reports for both the ongoing and future development projects. Everyone shares the same ambitious vision. They want to develop the hospital into a centre of excellence for medical care for people with disabilities. Nalome and her team play a key role in securing the much-needed funding to make that vision a reality. At the heart of the vision is offering free services to those who cannot afford treatment, so that no-one needs to be turned away because they are poor.
Nalome is currently on maternity leave; she gave birth to a healthy baby boy on 1 January.
